CAN DO's FUTURE VISION
Access
Our vision includes a volunteer manned, non - geograhic 24 hour helpline, so that service users can always talk to someone. People often just need to talk to someone, and by having trained volunteers available from the comfort of their own homes, we will always be providing the service they require. Our Engagement Programme will continue to take our services out into the community, so there will always access close to where people live. Carers have huge demands on their time so making services as accessible as possible has, and will continue to be, one of our main priorities to improve quality of life and independance.
Engagement
Through piloting our services out in the community we have gained a good knowleadge of what works and what doesn't in terms of making contact with our client group; and the relationship we have with other professionals and partner organisations is constantly thriving. The next step is for us to secure funding for a Community Engagement Programme that will deliver a varied programme of activities in 15 areas of the Borough. The Engagement Programme will ensure that the client group is continually consulted. It will give service users a real opportunity to be involved in the development of the Beacon Project, to influence policy, and service design.
Communication
No organisation can boast perfect communication systems, but at CAN DO we are continually trying to make improvements. We pride ourselves on designing and shaping our service delivery according to what we are told by our service users. We regularly inform our clients n policy updates, entitlements, court rulings and over the coming Year Trustees intend on developing an interactive forum for disabled adults and carers to come along and voice their opinions.
WE WILL :-
* Achieve our aims and objectives by working even closer with the people who use our services.
* Continue to provide free, independant community Advocacy services.
* Expand delivery of up to date, accurate information services to the wider community.
* Continue to campaign for a 'joined - up thinking' approach to services being delivered for disabled adults and their carers.
* Partner with colleagues across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
* Continue to support disabled people, their family and carers.
* Further expand our volunteer base.
