Are you receiving unwanted calls?
The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is a central opt out register whereby individuals can register their wish not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls.
TPS is not a call blocking or baring service and there is no physical presence on your telephone line.
Numbers registered with TPS are placed on the national 'Do Not Call' register and organisations engaging in unsolicited direct marketing calls are obliged under the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 to screen their data against the TPS and must not make an unsolicited direct marketing call to any number registered with TPS.
If you wish to register with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) you can call the registration line on 0845 070 0707
or you can visit
www.tpsonline.org.uk
Fares, Please!
Our advocacy service was recently asked by an older person if they could look into the possibility of having a bus stop that was closer to her home because she was unable to walk the considerable distance to the nearest one.
This request seemed to be a real challenge but after doing some research it was established that there had been an informal bus stop at the end of the lane close to where she lived for many years.
Our advocate contacted CCBC who agreed to contact the bus company concerned and request that they reinstate the informal stop. CCBC have also asked the bus company to inform their drivers to stop at the informal bus stop if passengers are waiting or when requests are received by passengers.
Do you need help and support to resolve your issues?
